Surprised by Oxford

A girl-meets-God style memoir of an agnostic who, through her surprising opportunity to study at Oxford, comes to a dynamic personal faith in God.
Carolyn Weber arrives for graduate study at Oxford University a feminist from a loving but broken family, suspicious of men and intellectually hostile to all things religious. As she grapples with her God-shaped void alongside the friends, classmates, and professors she meets, she tackles big questions in search of love and a life that matters.
This savvy, beautifully written, credible account of Christian conversion follows the calendar and events of the school year as it entertains, informs, and promises to engage even the most skeptical and unlikely reader.

The story is about a young woman who came to faith during her study at Oxford University. The book is reather long but an interesting story. It is worth reading.

Brush of Angel's Wings

By Ruth Reid

Book description
Rachel and Jordan's feelings for each other are hostile at first, but angelic intervention helps the two discover peace . . . and perhaps love.
The youngest and last unmarried of four sisters, Rachel Hartlzer spends most of her time helping with barn chores. Her role abruptly changes when her father hires Jordan Engles, the son he always wanted.
As Jordan takes on brotherly roles around the house, like escorting Rachel to the youth singing, the enmity between the two grows. Besides, Jordan has one foot in the Englisch world and is determined not to get involved with an Amish girl.
Neither realizes that God has sent an angel, Nathaniel, to help mend their hearts. The angel’s intervention helps them find peace and healing in accepting God's will for their lives.

My opinion
This was the first book that I missed after finishing it :)
I liked to sit on the sofa and leave everything outside and read this book. My mind, my heart and my soul was warming up while reading it.

I liked very much the discussion of the angels and demons during the story. Yes, every aspect of our life is important for God. There must be a divine debate while we talk to somebody or when we make a decision.

This book is rather long, more than 400 pages, but it is worth reading it. And at the end you will think: "it is a pitty that it is so short" :)
